Verbier (Les Collons), Switzerland

Les Collons is situated just 300 vertical metres below Thyon on a broad East facing slope. There are really two main parallel roads in Les Collons one 50 metres above the other. Most of the accommodation is in apartments but there are more recent luxury chalet developments and a few 3 star hotels.

There is a wider range of bars and restaurants than in Thyon and so this makes Les Collons a great place to stay if you want to explore the huge 4 Valleys ski area without incurring the costs of staying in Verbier. There are a number of lifts that connect with Thyon and from there the expanse of the 4 Valleys is relatively easy to access.

With its toboggan run, walking trails (7km) and cross country trails (6km) there is actually a fair bit to do for non skiers.
