Luxury chalet Pollux is one of only a handful of free standing luxury chalets in Zermatt. Its location provides the best of both worlds: spectacular views and easy access. It is just 200m from the Matterhorn Express base lift station and resort run there is a street level tunnel which leads you to a lift (elevator) built inside the mountain, from the top of which there is a gentle 3 minute walk to the property. Skis and boots can be left in the tunnelﾒs ski-room.
Newly built (2008), the chalet has been tastefully decorated, delicately combining an alpine, cosy and contemporary finish, with liberal use of wood and stone. It has all the latest technology with flat-screen TVs, rotating fireplaces and geothermal heating to reduce the chalet's carbon foot-print.
Included in the price are a professional chef and experienced chalet hosts serving up our gourmet half-board dining service, an open bar, daily cleaning and shopping service and unlimited wine. The gourmet dining service includes breakfast, afternoon tea, canapes and dinner on six nights, accompanied by outstanding complimentary carefully selected wines. A more extensive fine wine list is also available on request for an additional fee.
On the ground floor the chalet features an entrance hallway that opens onto a spacious living room with a wood fire and its own bar, satellite TV/DVD and music system, a dining room with open plan modern kitchen. Off the dining room there is an office with PC and wireless internet. Each bedroom has its own TV (satellite/DVD) and stunning mountain views and its own balcony. On the ground floor, the living room has a patio terrace.
The Chalet has its own sauna and a unique outdoor hot-tub surrounded by snow - the perfect to relax and enjoy the view after a long day in the mountains.
The chalet is adjacent to two other free standing chalets (one sleeps 8 and the other sleeps 10 guests) which may also be rented enabling a group of up to 26 guests to stay in the same location while benefiting from the space and privacy that only a sole-occupancy luxury chalet can provide.
