Chalet Pollux, Zermatt, Switzerland

Season 2020-2021: If you book a holiday and it includes a flight then you have booked a package holiday and you are protected by the Package Travel Regulations. These mean that if your accommodation cannot be provided you are either offered an alternative of the same quality, or a cash refund, or the chance to book again at a later date. As we have seen from experience any monetary refund may take a few months to be paid out but in the meantime your money is protected by the ATOL scheme.

Luxury chalet Pollux is one of only a handful of free standing luxury chalets in Zermatt. Its location provides the best of both worlds: spectacular views and easy access. It is just 200m from the Matterhorn Express base lift station and resort run there is a street level tunnel which leads you to a lift (elevator) built inside the mountain, from the top of which there is a gentle 3 minute walk to the property. Skis and boots can be left in the tunnelメs ski-room.

Newly built (2008), the chalet has been tastefully decorated, delicately combining an alpine, cosy and contemporary finish, with liberal use of wood and stone. It has all the latest technology with flat-screen TVs, rotating fireplaces and geothermal heating to reduce the chalet's carbon foot-print.

Included in the price are a professional chef and experienced chalet hosts serving up our gourmet half-board dining service, an open bar, daily cleaning and shopping service and unlimited wine. The gourmet dining service includes breakfast, afternoon tea, canapes and dinner on six nights, accompanied by outstanding complimentary carefully selected wines. A more extensive fine wine list is also available on request for an additional fee.

On the ground floor the chalet features an entrance hallway that opens onto a spacious living room with a wood fire and its own bar, satellite TV/DVD and music system, a dining room with open plan modern kitchen. Off the dining room there is an office with PC and wireless internet. Each bedroom has its own TV (satellite/DVD) and stunning mountain views and its own balcony. On the ground floor, the living room has a patio terrace.

The Chalet has its own sauna and a unique outdoor hot-tub surrounded by snow - the perfect to relax and enjoy the view after a long day in the mountains.

The chalet is adjacent to two other free standing chalets (one sleeps 8 and the other sleeps 10 guests) which may also be rented enabling a group of up to 26 guests to stay in the same location while benefiting from the space and privacy that only a sole-occupancy luxury chalet can provide.

With its world famous Matterhorn Mountain, fantastic on piste dining, and wonderful resort ambiance travellers from around the world have made sure that there is always a demand for luxury chalets in Zermatt. The ski area is huge and combines with Cervinia in Italy to create a wonderful interlinked ski domain. Zermatt has invested many millions over recent years creating a lift system that rivals any resort in the world and getting from one area to the other is no longer the problem that it once was. Zermatt always had a certain magic and that magic is now set to continue well into the 21st Century.

We say...
A stunning chalet perched high up on the hillside. The views are breathtaking from every room and even from the hot tub with a glass of champagne. Top end luxury, full concierge, a Michelin standard chef...all this will help once you have managed the walk up to the chalet. Pollux's sister chalet next door is perfect for larger groups.
