Chalet Haus Ulysse, Zermatt, Switzerland

Season 2020-2021: If you book a holiday and it includes a flight then you have booked a package holiday and you are protected by the Package Travel Regulations. These mean that if your accommodation cannot be provided you are either offered an alternative of the same quality, or a cash refund, or the chance to book again at a later date. As we have seen from experience any monetary refund may take a few months to be paid out but in the meantime your money is protected by the ATOL scheme.

255 square metres of living space. Luxury Chalet Ulysse in Zermatt is one of only a handful of free-standing properties in this fantastic resort. It is unique in that you can ski to within 100 metres of the door and it is conveniently situated next to the free ski-bus stop, adjacent to a children's play area and a shop. It takes three minutes to walk to the Klein Matterhorn ski lift and 10 minutes to the centre of the village where the main bars and restaurants are located. Haus Ulysse is Chalet apartment Ulysse and apartment Argos combined. One sleeps 8 guests and the other sleeps 4. Combined they make very comfortable living for 12 guests.

Situated in a quiet, elevated and sunny position in Zermatt's 'Beverly Hills' region of Winklematten this stunning property offers breathtaking, uninterrupted views of the Matterhorn and the surrounding mountains. Built in a typical Alpine style and clad in weathered wood, Chalet Ulysse combines contemporary with classical Swiss architecture.

The chalet features a stylish living room with wood fireplace and Matterhorn view, open plan modern kitchen, dining area, six double bedrooms (two with TV and DVD) and four bathrooms. There is broadband wireless internet access throughout the chalet which also features cable TV, DVD and an integrated surround sound system. The extendable teak dining table can accommodate up to 12 guests. This is a rare chalet style duplex penthouse apartment finished to a very high standard with exceptional views. The lower floor is a self contained unit which gains access to the duplex penthouse by external stairs.

This chalet is catered by a qualified chef who is assisted by a host providing breakfast, afternoon tea and servicing of the rooms daily. Dinner is a 4 course gourmet affair served 6/7 nights, starting with canapes and aperitifs and accompanied by selected house wines. There is an open bar provided throughout the week.

The lower ground floor has a ski room, laundry and wellness area. There is a pine wood sauna, rainfall shower, WC and relaxation area with flat-screen TV and surround sound.

With its world famous Matterhorn Mountain, fantastic on piste dining, and wonderful resort ambiance travellers from around the world have made sure that there is always a demand for luxury chalets in Zermatt. The ski area is huge and combines with Cervinia in Italy to create a wonderful interlinked ski domain. Zermatt has invested many millions over recent years creating a lift system that rivals any resort in the world and getting from one area to the other is no longer the problem that it once was. Zermatt always had a certain magic and that magic is now set to continue well into the 21st Century.

We say...
This is a lovely 'home from home' chalet apartment in this internationally renowned resort. Everything is first class with this property, from the beautiful living room, bedrooms and spa facilities to the food and service.
