Pragelato, Italy
The ski resort name Pragelato means 'frozen meadow'. Built for the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics (for the ski jumping and cross country events) this modern resort is situated on the valley floor near to Sestriere and the huge Milky Way ski domain.
Pragelato is located in a beautiful region of Val Chisone, with an excellent snow record in winter. There are 50km of local pistes in the Pragelato ski area ranging in height from 1,535m - 2,500m but most good skiers will take full advantage of the ski area known as Milky Way with over 400km of pistes. One lift out of Pragelato and you are in the main ski system.
The smaller local ski area is accessed from a lift about 400 metres from the main accommodation. There is a shuttle service for those clients staying at the Club Med to and from the local lifts. The main gondola that accesses the Milk Way area is situated right next to the Club Med hotel so accessing the main ski area is very easy.
