Chalet No.14, Verbier, Switzerland

Season 2020-2021: If you book a holiday and it includes a flight then you have booked a package holiday and you are protected by the Package Travel Regulations. These mean that if your accommodation cannot be provided you are either offered an alternative of the same quality, or a cash refund, or the chance to book again at a later date. As we have seen from experience any monetary refund may take a few months to be paid out but in the meantime your money is protected by the ATOL scheme.

The luxury chalet No.14 is arguably Verbier's largest and most unique chalet property available to rent. Formerly the Hotel Rois Mages the building underwent a multi million pound transformation in 2010. The British owner, David Pearson, certainly knows a thing or two about luxury chalets in Verbier as he previously was the founder and Managing Director of Ski Verbier.

Sleeping up to 28 guests in thirteen elegant bedrooms, No.14 can be taken on an exclusive use basis but is also available for individual room bookings during the peak weeks of the season. Unlike many of Verbier's hotels and chalets, No.14 is also available for weekend stays, as well as offering discounted 'reverse weekends' (Sunday to Thursday).

One of the highlights is the spa which has a 10 metre pool, steam room, cold plunge pool and large Jacuzzi, all built with the coolest grey stone. In addition there are treatment rooms for every kind of massage and beauty therapy. Outside, an expansive terrace is the perfect place to admire the stunning views of the Grand and Petit Combin, either from one of the comfy sun loungers or from the warmth of the large cedar hot tub - glass of champagne in hand!

For those who like their movies, No.14 boasts a home cinema with an oversized U shaped sofa. This entertainment room also has the latest games consoles and a selection of children's toys and games.

All the bedrooms are beautifully furnished and each has a stylish bathroom, kitted out with Dornbracht fittings and various different types of Italian stone. The master bedroom No.14 (there is no room 13!) is exceptional. Located on the top floor and open to the eaves, the views from either the free standing bath or the cedar hot tub on the balcony are sensational. Amongst the other bedrooms are two further suites, family rooms with interconnecting doors and a double bunk room which is ideal for families with 3 or 4 children.

Fourteen dedicated and experienced staff are on hand to ensure you have the most relaxing and stress free holiday. Most have worked in Verbier for at least one season and some for several years. Chefs have cooked in some of the leading restaurants in the world. Menus are carefully designed to cater for all tastes and diets and any special requests are always gratefully received.

No.14 is situated above the resort centre but there is always a chauffeured 4x4 vehicle to take you in and around Verbier, any time of the day or night.

With 70 luxury Verbier chalets (a number that is constantly growing) it's not hard to see why this world famous ski resort is popular with the rich, famous and wealthy from around the world. The party scene in this vibrant resort is as well known as the fantastic skiing so for a holiday in Verbier you need to be fully fit and on your party A game. Parties stretch long into the small hours and if it's a powder day the next day you will be expected to be up the lifts early in the morning. There's no rest for the wicked in Verbier! The resort centre of Verbier offers some great shopping and the sports centre will keep non skiers happy also. There are some world class restaurants here and the views across to the Dents du Midi mountain range are always spectacular. Verbier has to be in the top five of anyone's best ski resorts list so we would suggest booking a ski holiday here soon!

We say...
Until recently this was the 3 star Rois Mages hotel. However, that was before David Pearson (ex owner of Ski Verbier) and Tim Avery unleashed considerable expenditure and design prowess into the property. The number of bedrooms was reduced to create larger rooms and suites and the communal areas have been given the new Alpine chic make-over treatment. Downstairs there is a wonderful spa and the large deck has one of the best hot tubs in the Alps. If you are after modern style, professional service and a warm atmosphere then look no further.
