The essence of luxury Chalet Abode is the meeting of ancient and modern to create an architectural showpiece of the highest standards. Lovingly converted in 2009, Abode is the epitome of a Savoyard farmhouse; whilst the renovation has retained the spirit & feel, contemporary interiors, designer furniture and oodles of creature comforts bring style & sophistication.
A few hundred people live in the timeless Savoyard village of St Martin de Belleville, a glittering jewel in the world famous 3 valleys. At the same height as Meribel, and with an 8-person gondola whisking you into the heart of the 3 valleys immense ski area, it is almost impossible not to fall in love with this area.
Abode's stunning open-plan living room is a feast of original beams, stonewalls and wall-to-wall windows with spectacular panoramic mountain views - the perfect sanctuary for winding down and relaxing after a day on the slopes.
Under-stated chic continues the sophisticated style downstairs. 1 family suite & 3 king/twin bedrooms comfortably sleep 8-10 guests; imagine the comfort of Hypnos beds, Egyptian linen, feather duvets & cosy bathrobes. Thoroughly contemporary en-suite bathrooms feature deep baths with showers, designer taps, under floor heating & White Company products to ensure the very best of bath times.
Sumptuous food naturally, is a key ingredient for the perfect holiday. You will experience 5 course dinners prepared and beautifully presented by passionate, qualified chefs who have a background in fine dining restaurants and a flair for sumptuous food.
Nestled in the hamlet of Villarabout, Abode is in a very private location, yet just a four-minute chauffeured drive from the centre of St Martin de Belleville and the main lift hub.
Luxury chalet Abode is available for exclusive bookings, families or smaller groups looking to join like-minded guests.
"This chalet has everything you would expect - comfort, convenience and haute cuisine - except a premium price tag". Conde Nast Traveller October 2010.
St Martin de Belleville has been voted a "Top 10 Picture Postcard Resort" by Peter Hardy (travel journalist). It is a very traditional Savoyard village with an old church, small square, pleasant buildings and very easy links into the entire Three Valleys ski area. St Martin de Belleville is also known for its traditional restaurants which serve local Savoyarde dishes with a smile and 4 of which are listed in the Michelin guide. One of these is the famous La Bouitte Restaurant (2 Michelin stars!) which is located in the neighbouring hamlet - perfect for the chalet staff night off as the restaurant has it's own shuttle service!
There are two spa centres (one that is part of La Bouitte restaurant) with Jacuzzi and sauna as well as treatments so there is something to do for non skiers. Right next to the main lift station is ESF Piou Piou creche that takes children from 2,5 to 6 years and can look after kids all day and provide lunch.

Helen and her staff excelled at every turn. Rich and Jess were fabulous hosts. Rich's cooking was second to none. Jess was on hand to satisfy every whim and helped turn a bunch of strangers into a very happy, well acquainted crowd by week's end (or maybe it was her surreptitious use of the genepi). Driver Vito made thorough sloths of us - ferrying us around and tending to our skis and boots every day. No one else of the slopes had their skis delivered inside the lift area! Helen's thoughtfulness with the quality and style of the decor of the chalets make for a luxurious break In addition to all of the above Saint Martin is central to all the key ski areas whilst being a thoroughly charming village - well away from the mayhem that is the rest of the valley.
It is one of the best Alpine chalet experiences we have ever had. The food and wine are superb, of course, but what really sets this chalet apart from other luxury chalets (and we've been to a lot!) is the warmth of the personal welcome from owner Helen and the quality and team work of the staff. They all work together to deliver a fantastic experience for the guests, exceeding our expectations in all areas - even extending to seamless relationships with the Twinner ski hire shop (which must be the friendliest in France), mountain guides (ask for Didier), and airport transfers.
Our chalet couple were outstanding. Friendly, helpful. Will, the driver, offered a superb service and I didn't lift a ski all week. It was easy to get to the main 3 Vallees ski area. Little needed in village itself. The transport service provided made the distance out an irrelevance.
