Luxury Chalet Veronica enjoys a prime position, sitting on the edge of Meribel's Doron piste at Altitude 1600 - its superb situation means that this is a true ski in, ski out chalet. This chalet has a real Alpine feel about it and is the perfect retreat for your stay in Meribel. The large sitting and dining room provides ample space for relaxing at the end of the day, as you watch skiers and boarders returning home from the comfort of the sitting room. The open fire place and exposed timbers are complemented by attractive fabrics and comfy sofas to give a warm atmosphere. A sunny balcony surrounds the sitting room where you can enjoy stunning views across the Meribel valley.
Accommodation is split on two levels, each floor offering one good sized en-suite room with wonderful views across the valley and two smaller twin rooms which share a bathroom. This is ideal for families or a small group of adults.
If you are a large group why not consider taking Chalet Cecilia next door in addition, sleeping a maximum of 20 guests in total.
Access to Meribel is fifteen minute by foot or by the free bus service that stops a short walk from the chalet. There area few shops, bars and restaurants at Altitude 1600.
The chalet Veronica is featured in our luxury portfolio not because it is super luxurious but because it is a traditional old school chalet that is both comfortable and has alpine charm in abundance. Furthermore, the operator of this chalet provide excellent staff and service in resort as well as some of the best food and wine for the price.
On its own, Meribel is a fantastic, challenging mountain for most beginners and intermediate skiers. Once the enormous scope of the Three Valleys region is included, it becomes one of the Alps' outstanding ski areas. Just look at the stats: 600km of pistes and 183 lifts and that does not include the vast amount of off-piste terrain. Yes, Meribel does have a strong British influence having being discovered by a Brit, but once tried you will find yourself going back year after year for the simple fact that it is one of the best ski resorts in Europe.

The staff were excellent. Especially their food! The chalet was a bit tired but tolerable.

Resort manager was very helpful. Chalet host and chef very attentive. Great and interesting food. Fab location next to the piste - ideal for children. Tea in bed was ultimate luxury. Slide Candy ski hire who deliver to the chalet and attend piste side were brilliant. Genius idea and much, much preferable to trudging to the busy ski shop with small children to be fitted with average equipment.

Suffice to say we thought both the facility and staff were superb and our only reservation was the difficult access into the chalet itself. Hattie Evans's patient assistance was, at all times, prompt and helpful and her advice and recommendations were invaluable. We would have no hesitation in recommending Alpine Answers to our friends.
